Annual Dues Invoices To Be Sent This Month

PLPOA Invoices will be sent soon to Riparians, HOA-Treasurers, Marina and Country Club. If you provided us with an email address, look for it in your email otherwise invoice will be snail-mailed to your home. The dues remain the same as last year. Riparian homeowner dues are $225 per lot. Please make your payment within 30 days. 
You can pay online anytime HERE or Pay by check - payable to PLPOA.

Successful, Productive Annual Meeting

May 5, 7:00 pm. Per Bylaws, 1 representative from each lake front property, Homeowner Association, and our two lake front business owners, who have PLPOA memberships in good standing, were invited to attend the Zoom meeting and eligible to vote.

Water Quality Summary for 2022

Dr. Jude’s Water Quality statistics assess the health of the lake and indicate areas for improvement.  Below are the highlights.  The July Newsletter will start a series to cover each of the water quality area in detail to provide a better understanding of these measurements.  Stay tuned!

• Dissolved Oxygen/Temperature relationships

  • Spring - dissolved oxygen down to 82 feet; temperature 41 F (very good)

  • Fall – dissolved oxygen down to 25-30 ft; temperature 86 F (concern)

• Water Transparency (Secchi Disk reading)

  • Spring – 20 ft. (very good)

  • Fall – 11 Ft. declines due to boat traffic stirring lake, algae growth, floating nutrients, & wildlife feces (monitor)

• Nitrogen concentrations

  • .15 mg/l (very good)

• Ammonia concentrations

  • .13 mg/l (concern)

• Phosphorus to assess the health of the lake

  • Bottom: .15 mg/l (concern)

• Conductivity

  • 690 uS (good - decreasing)

In Case of Emergency - Contacts

The Oakland County Marine Sheriff will be on the lake this summer and he/she may not see an incident that you see, even though they are on the lake. If you witness an incident such as excessive noise, traveling too close, traveling the wrong way, etc.

Non Emergency Call - 248 858 59000 (O.C. Sheriff dispatch) provide detailed facts, video, photos, ask for a jump boat or to be connected to the Marine Sheriff Unit.

• If No sheriff is on the lake, sometimes they can put a “jump boat” in the water and/or make a visit to the owners home, provided they have proof. You can email your video, pics and details directly to our sheriff. Sheriff Burwell - burwellb@oakgov.com
