Fun on the Lake Doesn’t End with Summer!Fall is here and we love it! The chilly days, the sweet apple cider, the colorful, crunchy leaves... everything is so cozy and beautiful. But we can't deny that winter is lurking around the corner, and we must get ready for it. Some people want to stay inside and watch football, but not us! We are always up for some outdoor fun, especially on the frozen lake. My son plays hockey, so he can't wait to skate on the ice. Dad helps him clear the snow to make a nice rink for the family. We make a small hole in the center of the ice, so the water floods it and creates a smooth and shiny rink. Now that's the way to do it! There are other rinks on the lake….Todd, our resident ice guru, always has a few frozen secrets up his sleeve. We can't resist sneaking a peek as we wander by. Or, if you prefer, you can put on your cross-country skis. Ladies, this is your chance for a dazzling new ski outfit! You'll look fabulous, burn winter calories and feel great as you glide on the snow. Trust me, it's exhilarating! But what if you don't skate or ski? No problem, you can still enjoy the lake. Just make sure the ice is thick enough. (Google says at least 4 inches before you can walk on it.). My favorite days are the bright sunny days when the sun warms your face and you breathe in the crisp revitalizing air. This is a great way to exercise and socialize during the cold months.
