Lake Weed Treatment UpdateEurasian Milfoil weeds came up early in June and the native weeds, (the ones that are good for the lake as long as they don’t interfere with activities in the boating lanes) were slow to grow. Early milfoil growth required quick action by Savin Lake Services. Just like that, over a 4 day period, the EU grew and billowed to the top of the water. Savin Lake Services had to act quickly to treat PLPOA areas as well as privately funded areas.
Savin treated both native weeds and Eurasian Milfoil at the same. We don’t expect to need a 2nd weed treatment at this time but we are at the mercy of mother nature. As we write this, Mother Nature is busy creating evaporation, hot sunny days, not so much rain, high wind, and increased water temperatures, etc, etc, etc - all these factors effect weeds and lake level!
