LAKE WEED TREATMENT

Noon through next morning please stay off the lake - THANK YOU!

1. Noon Thursday through next morning please stay off the lake as large wakes/waves are disruptive to the application of the invasive Eurasian Milfoil (EU) treatment. We suggest no swimming to avoid disrupting the water.

2. All Sprinklers should be turned off on Thursday June 2nd. Ok to turn them back on 24 hours later.

3. Similar to last year, the EU treatment will focus in and around the boat lanes and the large EU beds west of Interlaken and east of the ski course. (shallow water)

4. We are happy to report our survey of the lake last year showed success and we saw no EU return to the Birch Harbor bed and the Marina. Both were treated in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

5. A SECOND treatment will be done before June 15 to lower the top 6-8 inches of the native aquatic weeds in and around the boat lanes. We will send you an email.

We believe one of our success factors last year is the lack of boat traffic on the water. Please wait to boat until Friday, noon. Thank you for your support and understanding.

While we realize this is short notice, the decision was made this morning based on water temp, weather, and consultation between the board and our specialists. We can never mess with Mother Nature!
