What’s New This Year: One of the key items this year is a vote on updated PLPOA By-Laws. Over time, it became clear our current by-laws needed a refresh to better reflect how we live and communicate today. The proposed updates are designed to: Make it easier for members to participate (including "e-voting" and attending meetings virtually) Improve clarity and transparency Strengthen how the Association operates behind the scenes

Thanks for being part of the Pine Lake community—we look forward to seeing you on May 14! ________________________________________________________________________________________ The Time Is Here: Help Reduce Geese on Pine LakeGoose Busters will be on-site from April 11 through the end of April to help manage the geese population on Pine Lake. To effectively control the population, nests must be identified and eggs removed before they hatch. Once the eggs hatch, no further action can be taken this season. The Goose Busters team will visit the lake several times, using a boat to access both the lake and canal areas. They will check known nesting locations from previous years as well as any new areas reported by residents. How You Can Help? We are asking residents to assist by identifying and flagging potential nesting areas. Geese often return to the same nesting locations each year, so watch for pairs displaying nesting behavior. Flagging Process: A simple flagging system has significantly improved nest identification and removal efforts. If you notice possible nesting activity on your property, please follow these steps: 1. Pick up two or more flags from the blue Rubbermaid bin located on the left side of the boat ramp at Pine Lake Country Club. The bin is clearly labeled and includes instructions. 2. Email your address and nest location to: info@pinelakemi.com and lhenney@comcast.net 3. Place one flag near the shoreline to identify your property for the Goose Busters team. 4. Place the second flag near the suspected nest location to help pinpoint the exact area. Before placing flags, please try to confirm actual nesting behavior or the presence of a nest, as geese may occasionally pass through without nesting. Questions? As you can see the water is up from where we were at the end of winter. Using our measurement system it is currently about 931.8, which is higher than the ideal level of 931.5. There is more rain projected through the weekend, so the lake level may come up another inch or two. The high water levels are good for the water quality and the lake’s ecosystem. However, we know this is a balancing act to protect riparian lake front property. The board will continue to monitor the water level diligently in the weeks ahead.
