We need your help

We hope you enjoy the fireworks display this Sunday! The firework vendor and Pine Lake Country Club staff will be on the lake the next day to assist with the cleanup.

As a way of showing appreciation to the Country Club and to keep our lake safe and clean, we kindly ask for your help in cleaning up any debris that may have landed on your shoreline or you find in the water. It’s a community effort to maintain the beauty and safety of our lake.

2024 Boat Count - August 2, 2024

The boat count is conducted each year usually around the 4th of July. The total number of sail boats, all sport boats, pontoons, PWC’s and canoes, kayaks and paddle boards is 799 (increase of 90)!! The total boat count for sport boats, pontoons and PWC’s is 483 (increase of 23). 

Below is a summary of the difference (increases and decreases) between 2023 vs 2024:
(Note all categories showed an increase from 2023.)

• 11 more Inboard sport boats

• 4 more pontoons

• 8 more PWC’s

• 45 more kayaks and

• 22 more paddle boards!

Observations from this year:

• Several homes have no boats or docks, and a few associations/businesses were not at full capacity. This could be due to people taking their boats out for vacation or maintenance.

• Kayaks and paddle boards are more visible from the shore than in the past, that could explain the higher number. But the trend is that more people are enjoying paddle board and kayak activities! 

• Pontoons continue to increase.

Pine Lake Country Club Swim Across the Lake - Use Caution in Area

The Pine Lake Country Club will be hosting their members for the traditional "Swim Across the Lake" event this Sunday, Sept 1, starting at 8:45 am. We advise caution as swimmers will be crossing the lake in front of the country club. Your cooperation and attention to safety are greatly appreciated.

After yesterday’s rain the water level is 931.7, a few inches above the ideal level, but a good place for this time of year.

Boating Safety - Please be careful and respectful on the lake!

Boating Safety Concerns (What NOT to Do!)

• Boaters on the lake traveling the wrong way

• PWC’s going the wrong way and driving too close to boat sterns

• Playing speakers too loud. Sound travels across the water.

• Wake-boarding too close to shore (200 ft violation)

• Young passengers sitting on the bow of pontoon, dangling their feet in the water while in motion

• Boats towing skiers, tubers, wake boarders and surfers without a life jacket/personal floatation device or observer

• Passengers on pontoon boats sitting on the “front deck” (beyond the front gate

  while the engine is on

• Boats less than 200 feet from the shore, boats, anchored boats, docks, rafts, and other structures

• Creating a wake when less than 200 feet of any dock, boat, raft, shoreline, buoy or occupied swim area.

  The buoy in front of the Marina cautions boaters that this is a wake zone.

  These behaviors are very dangerous and could lead to severe injury or death!

Boating Safety Reminders

• Follow Michigan Boater requirements

• Navigation lights at dusk

• Stay in the deep water path!

• No skiing, tubing, or surfing 1 hour after sunset

• Stay out of ski course and away from buoys

• Holidays, especially July 4th weekend, are very busy.

• Be patient and be mindful of safety. Wake will be challenging for many boating activities

• Violation of Distance Requirement – 200 ft No Wake 7/24

• PWC‘s are not allowed from Sunset to 8 AM per Michigan law
