—April to mid-May - Goose Remediation Program. Report & mark nets.
—Prepare for the Boating season - Review Boating Safety Section below.
—Spring Weed Survey by Progressive Companies - Assess weed types, location and density

—Lake Weed Treatment Date TBA - Look for yard signs and emails. Stay off the lake that day.
—Water sample collection by Dr. Jude
—Pay 2025 Annual Dues and any back dues via PayPal HERE or Check

The PLPOA Annual Meeting will be held via Zoom: Thursday, May 8, 2025, 7:00 pm

• Please note one invitation and Zoom link will be emailed to each Riparian’s home, Association, and Business, whos dues are fully paid 2024 PLPOA, in accordance with the PLPOA Bylaws.

Boat Safety - Time to Review DNR Website

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Boating Website is a great way to stay informed. Get information on boating classes, who needs a certificate and how to earn one, or review the boating safety checklist.

Boat Safety - What NOT to Do!

• Boaters on the lake traveling the wrong way

• PWC’s going the wrong way and driving too close to boat sterns

• Playing speakers too loud. Sound travels across the water.

• Wake-boarding too close to shore (200 ft violation)

• Young passengers sitting on the bow of pontoon, dangling their feet in the water while in motion

• Boats towing skiers, tubers, wake boarders and surfers without a life jacket/personal floatation device or observer

• Passengers on pontoon boats sitting on the “front deck” (beyond the front gate

  while the engine is on

• Boats less than 200 feet from the shore, boats, anchored boats, docks, rafts, and other structures

• Creating a wake when less than 200 feet of any dock, boat, raft, shoreline, buoy or occupied swim area.

  The buoy in front of the Marina cautions boaters that this is a wake zone.
  These behaviors are very dangerous and could lead to severe injury or death!

Boat Safety - Reminders

• Follow Michigan Boater requirements

• Navigation lights at dusk

• Stay in the deep water path!

• No skiing, tubing, or surfing 1 hour after sunset

• Stay out of ski course and away from buoys

• Holidays, especially July 4th weekend, are very busy.

• Be patient and be mindful of safety. Wake will be challenging for many boating activities

• Violation of Distance Requirement – 200 ft No Wake 7/24

• PWC‘s are not allowed from Sunset to 8 AM per Michigan law
