Dear Pine Lake Riparians, Businesses, and Association Representatives, As communicated in our June newsletter, Progressive recently completed a follow-up survey today to assess the effectiveness of the initial weed treatment performed on June 15. Based on the survey results and the recommendation of our lake management experts, Savin Lake Services will conduct a follow-up weed treatment tomorrow, Tuesday, June 30, 2026. We know this is short notice, but we respectfully ask that all riparians, businesses, and lake associations avoid using Pine Lake throughout the day on Tuesday, June 30, while the treatment is being completed. Limiting lake activity—including wake surf boats and other watercraft that create waves—will help ensure the treatment is applied safely and effectively. If your sprinkler or irrigation system draws water from Pine Lake, please turn it off during the treatment and keep it off for at least 24–72 hours afterward. This precaution helps prevent treated lake water from being applied to lawns and landscaping immediately following the treatment. Savin recommends all sprinklers using lake water should be turned off for 3 DAYS at the application rate being applied (5 days for food crops and production ornamentals). We have not had damage after 24 hours in the past, but this is the official recommended wait time. As previously shared, the Board intentionally scheduled this treatment before the Fourth of July holiday so that no treatments will be necessary during the holiday weekend. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we continue to carefully manage both invasive and native aquatic vegetation. Our goal remains to protect the health of Pine Lake while preserving its outstanding ecosystem for everyone to enjoy. We appreciate your support and understanding.
